At the Y, success starts at birth. The YMCA of the East Bay has more than 16 Early Learning Centers throughout targeted low-income communities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Our centers help more than 1,200 children and families who visit our centers daily.
The Y is responding to the need to build a new Early Learning Center in Cherryland (located near Hayward), an area where 23% are at poverty, 50% identify as Hispanic, and 39% are foreign-born populations. The Cherryland Campaign fundraising goal is $8.1 million with more than 74% of funding already secured.
